Australia: one of the best place for high school students to study abroad! Want to know why…?

Recently studying abroad is becoming more and more common.

Studying abroad is already popular among university students or young workers but it seems that it has become popular even among high school or junior high school students.

That’s why today I would like to recommend Australia to all those who are thinking about studying abroad!

Why?

Let’s talk about the reasons why I personally recommend Australia as the best place for high school students who wants to have a study abroad-experience.

① Safe environment, good liveability:

In the “2018 World’s Most Liveable City Ranking” announced by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) in the research section of the Economist English magazine, three Australian cities were ranked in the top 10!

2nd place Melbourne, 5th place Sidney, 10th place Adelaide (Tokyo is currently at the 7th place!)

It seems that Melbourne has been at the 1st place for 7 years! Even if nowadays we find Melbourne at the 2nd place we can affirm that its good liveability is indisputable.

I have visited Melbourne and Sydney too and I can say that the environment appears safe and very liveable: there aren’t pickpockets or dangers like that.
Transportation facilities are also good, the urban area is well connected therefore it’s easy to sightsee.

② Well-developed education system

In Australian schools, even high schools, a personal computer is provided for each student.

A rich provision of subjects is offered to let the students cultivate their skills and interests! Not only basic subjects such as national language or maths but even technology, theatre, vocational training and so on.

According to the world university ranking, annually released by the UK university evaluation institution “Quacquarelli Symonds”, 7 Australian universities are included in the top 100 universities. This is a straightforward evidence of the high level of Australian education system.

③ International students are welcome

Australia has established a national law called ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Students): the principle of this law is to provide and guarantee education to international students as they are equivalent to local students.
Since a law like ESOS is quite unusual, we can affirm that we have evidence of the strong willing to welcome international students in Australia.

Australia has a great acceptance rate and that’s why it is a popular destination!!

The number of international students in Australia each year reaches 560000 people.

④ Australians are friendly

Australia is a multi-ethnic country.

During my experience in Australia, I have been able to notice how kind Australians can be with foreigners.
Studying abroad is something you do on your own and when you leave your parents, especially if you are a high school student, concerns and anxieties are a lot.
In this case the destination is important: a friendly place, a warm welcome may be a great relief.
